Like a work of art on the wall!

The passion for wallpaper continues to grow and the traditional way of covering our walls has unquestionably moved into a new golden age. The good news for wallpaper lovers is that the new Boråstapeter Studio has opened up even more possibilities.

– One advantage is that you can decide where the cut off will be, which means you can have, for example, a large tree as the focal point of the mural, says Sissa.

– The wallpaper can also work as wall art in an open floor plan and is an aesthetically pleasing way to create space inside the room. There are so many ways you can play with the wallpaper and it adorns the wall almost like a work of art, designer Amanda Nordblad goes on to say.

Open the bedroom door and step inside another world. Boråstapeter Studio has the wallpaper to let you do just that.

The perfect choice

Thinking of transforming your living room into a tranquil forest, a ceiling into a dreamy sky or switching up your interior style with bold accent wallpaper? Then custom-made wallpapers are the perfect choice. Check out this list of favourite wallpapers and top tips from Boråstapeter’s designers Sissa Sundling and Amanda Nordblad.

– Boråstapeter Studio wallpaper is digitally printed, unlike classic wallpaper, which means it can be custom made to meet requirements. We can use a large photo and customise it to cover a whole wall or create a design that feels like it goes on forever. The wallpaper is printed on-demand which means we only produce the amount requested. Because of that, we can be slightly more daring and try out bolder looks, says Sissa Sundling, Head of Design at Boråstapeter.

Photographs perfect for accent walls

The wallpapers from Boråstapeter Studio range from figurative designs to abstract shapes and include landscape motifs too.

– Vintage Palms is one of my absolute favourites. This wallpaper features an exotic landscape of palm trees. It’s available in a choice of colourways and I particularly like the muted green version. It brings a whole landscape into the room with the feeling of being in a different world, says Sissa.

Sissa also points out Greenhouse, which is a dreamlike photograph that looks out from a verandah.

– The wallpaper is one massive window divided into small panes of glass with green trees outside. Ideal if you’re looking to create an illusion in a bedroom or bring life to an accent wall in a darker room. Clouds Swans, is another fantastic wallpaper featuring swans flying past fine clouds. It looks amazing on walls and on the ceiling and is simply perfect for creating a dream world in a bedroom or child’s room.

– Another one of my favourites is Swanlake which is also ideally suited for children’s rooms with its charming pattern, Amanda goes on to say. This romantic wallpaper comes in two vintage-inspired colourways.

Easy alignment of patterns

Both designers also emphasise how important it is that the wallpaper works well in the interior space – in all aspects, from colours and patterns to textures.

– Limestone is a sophisticated wallpaper that suits a more elegant interior style. It has a monotone colour scheme, resembles limestone and exudes a mixture of continental and bohemian charm. Another minimalist yet striking wallpaper is Gradient Painting. It transitions from dark to light and creates the illusion of height, says Amanda.

Not only does Boråstapeter Studio come in a wide selection of designs and motifs, the wallpaper offers easy alignment of patterns, she explains:

– You measure the wall, add 10 cm to the height and width and don’t need to look for pattern matching in the same way when hanging the wallpaper. The strips are hung edge to edge regardless of the pattern.

Finally, what considerations do you think are important when choosing wallpaper?

– If you see a wallpaper and fall in love with it, then that’s the one for you! Or you can, of course, give some thought to what you want to achieve with the wallpaper. For a child’s room, you might want to look for wallpaper with a magical design that gives little ones plenty to look at. If you want to create a sense of harmony in the living room, go for a soft tone-on-tone colour palette, says Sissa.

– I would say, don’t overthink it. Whatever design you choose, it gives your space a fresh and instant lift, and wallpaper is very forgiving, says Amanda.
