The black-and-white mural wallpaper Delfinisk Rörelse is based on one of Karl Axel Pehrson’s graphic paintings: a stylised image of dolphins in a dense shoal of fish—abstract and representational at the same time.
Pehrson was one of Sweden’s leading post-war artists, and this particular painting was adapted into a textile for NK’s textile department in 1954. The fine linen texture lives on in this enlarged digital print of the textile original’s black print on a light linen ground. Yes, our wallpapers are printed on materials sourced from sustainable forestry. In production, no PVC or harmful solvents are used, and they exclusively work with water-based paints and surface treatments that can be safely handled in the factory's own purification facilities. The factory continually strives to reduce energy consumption, for instance, by using production waste for district heating in the city of Borås. And when you receive the finished wallpaper roll from Boråstapeter, it is packaged in recyclable material.
