From a longing to revive a bygone elegance and cast it in a new light, Herrgård was born – a collection filled with patterns inspired by grand halls, painted tiled stoves, verdant parks and rustling dress fabrics. You can almost feel the wonderful whisper of history as we let some of the country’s most beautiful, idyllic manor houses lead the way and inspire patterns that are as stylish as they are timeless – some rediscovered treasures from Boråstapeter’s pattern archive, others entirely newly designed compositions.

The newly designed Sophia Magdalena is a flourishing pattern inspired by the 18th-century Chinese wallpaper at Åby Frälsegård outside Gothenburg. Beautiful Hildasholm, whose Arts & Crafts pattern is clearly inspired by the manor house of the same name. The Alnarp wallpaper is a lovely homage to our beautiful castle and manor house parks.

Herrgård is a patterned tribute to the manor house life of bygone times and its magnificent interiors. And just as in our Swedish manor houses, the Gustavian heritage, with its light, clean and timeless expression, takes centre stage. Here, the pared-back yet exquisitely decorated is given plenty of room in the form of both airy floral compositions and elegant stripes. But the collection also includes darker, more saturated colourways in shades such as burgundy, blue and mustard yellow.

To truly bring the manor house feel to life, every pattern in the collection is printed using traditional paste-printing craftsmanship, and whether you choose a wallpaper with delicate bindweed, classic ornaments or stylised flowers, the result is the same – a vibrant, tactile and authentic sense of timeless elegance.
