How to wallpaper around windows and doors
1. Hang the wallpaper strip
Start from the top and hang the wallpaper strip around the window or door. Press the strip into place and keep an eye on the pattern match.
2. Adjust the strip around the frame
Carefully ease out the part of the strip that ends up over the window or door and press the wallpaper in towards the frame using the wallpaper tool.
3. Find the corner and trim
Feel with your hand where the corner is before you start trimming the wallpaper. Then carefully cut from the top down along the corner with the wallpaper knife.
4. Make a slit with the scissors
Cut a slit with the scissors to make it easier to fold and adjust the wallpaper around the frame.
4. Press the wallpaper into place
Fold and press the wallpaper into place above and next to the frame, then trim neatly with the wallpaper knife.
5. Press with the wallpaper tool
Continue pressing the edge in with the wallpaper tool along the frame and trim neatly from top to bottom until you reach about halfway down the door.
6. Cut off with the scissors
Cut off the strip a little below the skirting board to make it much easier to get a neat finish between the door frame and the skirting board.
7. Trim neatly
Press the strip firmly against the frame and the skirting board and cut away excess wallpaper with the wallpaper knife.
8. Neat corner
Use the scissors to create a neat corner, then press the wallpaper back into place.
