How to wallpaper around outlets and switches
Always start by switching off the power, then remove the cover plate with a screwdriver.
Use a brush to apply wallpaper paste closest to the outlet.
Also use the brush to apply paste along the ceiling and skirting board. Roll the rest of the wall with an even layer of paste, one wallpaper width at a time with a little extra margin.
Now it’s time to hang the wallpaper strip! Start from the top and position the strip as close to the next one as possible, leaving a gap of two to three millimetres. Smooth the strip with your wallpapering tool to remove any air bubbles.
When you reach the wall outlet, take your utility knife and trim neatly around the outlet. Cut off the strip at the skirting board and finally screw the cover plate back on.
